Home of the Minutemen!
Historically, minutemen were elite members of the colonial militia in New England during the American Revolutionary War, chosen for their youth, enthusiasm, reliability, and physical strength. They were the first to arrive on the scene of war or investigation and as such were called minutemen for their ability to be ready at a moment’s notice.
The mascot logo is comprised of imagery specific to minutemen. This includes the Pennsylvania Long Rifle and Tricorn hat, both inherent to the uniform of the minutemen during the American Revolutionary War, as well as the three stars, the largest of which symbolizes the north star which acted as a guidance to soldiers.
