Ms. Nikki Belcher
KINDERGARTEN
Many families will recognize Ms. Nikki Belcher (formerly Mrs. Dixon) from her outstanding work as Registrar. This year, we are thrilled to reintroduce her in a new capacity – as a Kindergarten Teacher at Ascent Classical Academy.
Originally from Rochester, New York, Ms. Belcher has called the Rock Hill area home for more than 30 years. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a minor in Psychology from Winthrop University, and she has long been immersed in the principles and practices of classical education.
As she transitions into the classroom, Ms. Belcher brings a deep understanding of how structure and joy work together to create a thriving learning environment.
“Classical education provides accurate weight to the importance of what we are doing as educators and expects it to be done with joy and gentleness.”
She is especially eager to help her students begin their academic journeys with confidence, noting that while the kindergarten curriculum is rigorous, the joy students experience as they grow and accomplish big things is just as important.
Outside of the classroom, Ms. Belcher enjoys trail running, crocheting, quiet time, and being outdoors. She considers herself a bit of an introvert but loves spending time with family and friends. Her favorite author is J.C. Ryle, whose ability to make complex truths approachable has had a lasting impact on her.
We are delighted to see Ms. Belcher bring her warmth, consistency, and thoughtful leadership into the Kindergarten classroom. Her students are in excellent hands.
