Mr. Stuart Shepherd
PHYSICAL EDUCATION TEACHER
We are excited to welcome Mr. Stuart Shepherd to Ascent Classical Academy, where he will serve as our new Physical Education Teacher.
Mr. Shepherd is originally from Rocky Ford, Colorado, and brings a strong academic and professional background to his new role. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Diverse Corporate Culture from Metropolitan State University of Denver and a master’s degree in Sport Management from Colorado State University. He comes to Ascent with experience in teaching physical education and a commitment to fostering both the physical well-being and moral development of students.
Mr. Shepherd was drawn to classical education for its intentional focus on cultivating critical thinking, character, and a love of lifelong learning. “A lifelong love of learning is essential to a productive life,” he shares, “and I feel a classical education fosters this love of learning.”
Beyond the classroom, Mr. Shepherd enjoys attending sporting events and concerts, playing golf, and spending time with his wife and their dog, Charlie. His favorite book is The Lord of the Rings trilogy, a story he appreciates for its enduring themes of courage, perseverance, and friendship.
We look forward to the energy and perspective Mr. Shepherd will bring to our physical education program and are grateful to welcome him to the Ascent community.
