Meet Our Team: Mr. William Green

Mr. Williams Green
FIFTH GRADE

A native of Belmont, North Carolina, Mr. Green brings a strong foundation in education, leadership, and classical thought to the classroom. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Christian ministry and leadership, a master’s degree in political science, and an ACSI teacher certification. His previous teaching experience includes two years of teaching American History and Modern World History at the Upper School level.

Mr. Green has a deep appreciation for the classical model of education. He writes, “What interests me most about classical education is its ability to build the students’ whole person by embracing the great works of those who have provided a framework for living a virtuous life.” His passion for the Western intellectual tradition and historical inquiry is evident both in and out of the classroom.

Before transitioning into full-time education, Mr. Green served in the United States Army, and later spent nearly ten years as a tour guide in Charleston, an experience that sparked his enduring love of history and the power of primary source documents. This passion has led him to pursue a Ph.D. in History, even as he balances the joyful responsibilities of being a father to three children – ages nine, two, and newborn.

In the rare moments of free time, Mr. Green enjoys watching football and reading works that explore foundational periods of American history. Some of his favorite books include Novus Ordo Seclorum by Forest McDonald, The President Who Would Not Be King by Michael McConnell, and Madness Rules the Hour by Paul Starobin.

Mr. Green brings a thoughtful and scholarly presence to our fifth-grade classroom and we are excited for the impact he will have on our students and our school community.

Welcome, Mr. Green!
